App-Day @ JNU
Hello everyone,
App-Day @ jnu was the second app-development event conducted by me and my club "UNICORN CLUB" , at my college "Jaipur National University, Jaipur.". This was a two- day event which held on 29th and 30th August, 2014. The event's main purpose was to teach university grads, to hack, innovate and build beautiful Apps. The event was divided into two session per day, attendees were divided according to the applications they have filled during registrations.
The volunteers at this event were :
29th August,2014: 1st Sessions
The event introduction part was divided into two parallel session going on in two different campuses simultaneously, as the first session was for everyone who want to know abou the App development in Firefox OS and HTML web-app development.
Seedling Campus:
The session at this campus was taken by me ( Adit Baradwaj ). I gave them an introduction to Firefox OS , how they can contribute in different fields as a developer, I showed them the power they have over their OS by showing a demo on App-Manager, and also made a "hello world App" for demo purpose.
Main Campus:
The session at this campus was taken by Dron Rathore . He also gave them an introduction to Firefox OS , how they can contribute in different fields as a developer, as by himself being working as a developer in the industry, he also shared his experience and showed them the path to be an awesome coder.
2nd Session:
This session was dedicated to full coding and developing awesome app. The session was divide into two batch one being the beginners and the other who already have knowledge to go and play with the code. On 29th we selected few participants who were really good at coding or who really have a good idea and just need a guidance. Then the selected people were invited on 30th which was full day app-hackathon.
30th August,2014: App-Hackathon Sessions :
We started the day with an activity by distributing the paper cutting of the Firefox OS phones and named the activity "Capture the idea". Well this idea was original from my side as its basic purpose was to capture the awesome ideas of the attendees and the developers of how they think the app should look like to basically asking them to design and overall UI they feel their app should have and its features jotted down on the back side if the paper. This idea was a huge success and we got more than 50 entries and ideas.
After the activity the full day was dedicated to the development coding of beautiful apps and ideas which we received and tried to maximize the possible outcome as full fledged finished app.
Moving towards the end we awarded prizes to the best App developer and provided him goodies .
Last but not the least i would like to thank MCR, Mozilla , My HOD Sir Mr. Vijay Dhaka and Sir Mr. Navneet Verma and my college for guiding and helping throughout the event.
